Who's Soldiers?

This is shameful. On the DNC website for Veterans and Military Families , they cannot EVEN get photos of our OWN TROOPS! They're Canadian! Photoshopped to boot!

No problem... I helped them below so they know what a US Soldier looks like.

Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin and Black Five

Sgt. Max C. Creel, US Army

Some comments from the DNC Blog:

Governor Dean writes an op-ed for the Sunday New York Times:

We live in dangerous times that demand real leadership. The president’s foreign policies have failed. Recent polls show that a plurality of Americans trust Democrats over Republicans to handle the war on terrorism and the war in Iraq, and two-thirds of Americans want a new direction for our country.

Democrats will answer this call by standing up for change with a unified agenda, including a defense policy that’s tough and smart. That’s a policy for tracking down terrorists, providing our troops and agencies with the tools they need to stop future attacks and following the 9/11 commission recommendations to close the gaps in our security.

Democrats will stand up to Republican attempts to once again use fear to win elections in November. We will make sure voters know that a Democratic Congress will not rubber-stamp the administration’s policies, which put the agenda of the far right ahead of what’s good for America. We offer a new direction that will restore to Congress the competence, efficiency and fairness that Americans deserve.

I find it absolutely astounding that the Democratic National Committee cannot find an actual photo of an American soldier for their Military and Families page...but, instead must try to placate the American People with a PhotoShopped picture of a Canadian soldier.

Support the soldiers....just not ours!

Thank you, Howard for keeping the fact that Democrats DO have a message out in the public eye.

I hope to see you here in CT supporting Lamont, Murphy, Courtney and Farrell in the near future!

1st I'd like to find out why you think the members of your party are stupid. You place a picture of a happy crowd on the main page of your site taken from AND you put a picture of a soldier on your main page that has been "photoshopped". The soldier is a Canadian NOT an American soldier. I know sometimes I'm a little slow but not stupid as your webmaster seems to think I am.

Next time Democrats should show real crowds of Dems at rallies and REAL American soldiers who vote Democrat, not use photo shop and stock pictures. This looks stupid.

Dr Dean says:

including a defense policy that’s tough and smart. That’s a policy for tracking down terrorists, providing our troops and agencies with the tools they need to stop future attacks

Perhaps that might start with learning what an American soldier actually looks like.

the picture of the soldier on the veterans page link is NOT a US Soldier, but rather a Canadian one. I hope the DNC realizes this and changes it. It is making the rounds of forum and political sites, like Malkin, et al

Oh give me a break. They made a mistake. So what ? Which is worse ? Making a mistake on posting a picture or sending off young men and women to die for LIES. I will pick this harmless mistake over the mistakes and treatment of our veterans and soldiers at the hands of bush and his gang of chicken hawks. Besides, you are using this to distract from what the article says ---deal with it..even our soldiers are fed up with the lies, etc of this administration

The Canadians are veterans of the war on terror, too. Their soliders have stood shoulder to shoulder with our troops in Afganistan and Iraq. Do they deserve any less respect?

You would ignore their valient efforts? The fact that the administator made a mistake in posting a photos here illustrates just how close and vital their efforts ae to protecting the world against terrorists.

I salute them and challenge those who would indicate they are an afterthought (sort of a insignificant joke?) and not worthy to be included in a story about the bravery of those who fight for alll of us everyday on the battlefields in the Midddle East.

It's one of the big Republican myths that we can stand alone and stop the terrorists. Why has the President alienated the rest of the world? Why do Republicans continue to have such a isolated, arrogant, polarized view of the the world?

Shame on you.

Sandy H - then why were the Canadian medals and insignias photoshopped off of the uniform, if indeed we were truly honoring the Canadian efforts?

BTW - the article attached to the photo does not support your argument. The article is deploring the reductions and shortcomings in US Veteran's benefits. Last time I checked, Canadians were not eligible for those. This is a persuasive ad designed to contrast Democratic vs Republican support for our veterans. The photo clearly displays the ignorance or carelessness of the persons who put the article together.

Here is the original photo - Please note the medals and insignias on both the coat and the beret that have been removed in the photo-shopped version. Clearly someone was trying to depict this man as something other than he is.

It looks like, according to all polls, Democrates will have an easy time taking control of the house or senate or both. Which leads me to some questions. First, what is the October surprise that Karl Rove has been promising the right, could it be the battle group that is presently heading to the Pursion gulf, that was instructed to be in place by October 27th? Can these morons really believe that by bombing Iran, they can save there chances in Midterms?
Also, the Bush people know that if the Democrates win next month, there will obviosly be investigations, and there are curtain items they don't want known. As the elections draw closer, they will try to buy off polls that will show curtain races closer than they really are, that way when they try to steel elections no one will question the results. But with so many races now up for grabs, how will Rove be able to steel so many, and can he do it? And if he gets caught, now that congress has handed Bush so much more power. How will the WH respond. Will he call Martial Law, and call the elections null and void, and keep Republican palls if office, while at the same time declare all Democrates enemys of the U.S. and have them all arrested? Like to know if these concerns are on any one elses mind.

It seems that the moonbats in the Malkin batcave have too much time on their hands.

Listen, I really don't care about a few pictures. This is a webpage after all... Republicans are desperate. Victory is in sight!

Posted by Vigla on October 8, 2006 at 12:25 PM

Vigla - if the party wants to shed its image of being weak on defense, then being able to publically identify an actual American soldier in uniform might be a good place to start, doncha think?
