A Useful Idiot
By Patrick GoodenoughCNSNews.com International Editor

Less than two weeks after Muslim terrorists killed more than 50 people in London, the city's left-wing mayor has caused a storm by blaming terrorism on decades of Western Mideast policies, and he appeared to express an understanding for Palestinian suicide bombers. If Britons had shared Palestinians' experiences, they too might have resorted to suicide attacks, Ken Livingstone told BBC radio. GUANTANAMO BAY, CUBA -- Abdullah M. was missing a leg when he got to Gitmo. In due course, he was fitted with a prosthetic leg and given occupational therapy to teach him how to use it. In the Orwellian inversion that dominates "world opinion" and requires us to prove we're the good guys, he was interrogated and -- after convincing our guys that he really wasn't a terrorist fanatic -- released and repatriated to Afghanistan. Now sought for involvement in the kidnapping of Chinese engineers and a bombing of the Islamabad Marriott, Abdullah is walking around on the artificial leg we evil Americans paid for. Full Story …
Have your heard any of this in the MSM?
Vladimir Lenin once described sympathizers in the West as "useful idiots". He stated the idiots were too busy running public relations for the Soviet Union to realize they were pawns for the Communist. Much of this holds true today concerning the War on Terrorism.
Think about the recent statements by some prominent liberals; Senators Richard Durbin (D) Il, Ted Kennedy (D) Mass., Rep. Nancy Peloci (D) CA, the MSM (D) Everywhere, etc. They are all running public relations for the terrorist. They are also acting as an ad hoc propaganda machine for our enemy. There comments are being widely read and viewed by the Muslim world on Al Jazeera, serving as a rally cry for the terrorist. Also, the numerous Leftwing Blog’s that support the left’s position. Their articles are nothing more than a constant flow of "unjust war", and phony "prisoner abuse" stories. They are in fact undermining our war efforts, knowingly or unknowingly. They appear to be performing beyond expectations of even the Jihadist. Mohammed could not be more proud were he alive today.
The MSM, along with their Liberal chums, are undermining our country and our very way of life.
To have a view in opposition of the government and to debate these issues are fundamentally American. However, there vitriolic statements, speeches, reporting and op-ed.’s have no reasonable bounds.
The statements made by Sen. Richard Durbin, widely published around the world and cheered on al-Jazerra, are just one recent primary example of inflammatory statements made by the left. Let’s revisit some of Sen. Durbin’s statements entered into the Congressional Record on June 14th, 2005:
"If I read (FBI agent’s report) this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners."
(Note: This report has not been confirmed and is a Raw report (not cross checked).
Sen. Durbin leaves little doubt that he knowingly participated in the campaign to undermine our military and President’s war policy. He only apologized to the one’s who felt offended. I presume the terrorist were not offended.
Another example of this phenomenon is the Liberal MSM ‘s complicity in their refusal to call a spade a spade. The terrorist that are fighting in Iraq are just that: TERRORIST! Not insurgents. One definition of insurgents is: a person(s)(group) who revolts against civil authority or an established government; especially : a rebel not recognized as a belligerent.Terrorist is defined as: violence (as bombing) committed by a person or groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands. The latter assuredly pertains to our current circumstances in Iraq. Another illustration is the BBC calling the London attacks last week as being performed by "terrorist". It was not long that the reference term was changed to "bombers".
The leftwing Clinton Administration treated the terror problem as a legal issue, therefore legal solutions were the answer. Clinton simply did not want to engage in anything remotely attached to terrorism. He raised the sword in his rhetoric, but never stabbed the beast. All done with the full support of the MSM and congressional Democrats.
But perhaps the greatest demonstration of the lefts collusion is the daily negative reporting regarding the war in Iraq. They fail miserably in stating the true picture. When was the last time any one of them reported the latest hospital or school that has been opened or a new power plant coming on line? When do you ever see the smiling faces of locals and our troops having a meal together in their homes, or show a video or print a picture of an Iraqi shaking hands with a soldier and thanking them. I could go on; but my point has been made. If you want to see the positive effects of this war, watch Col. Oliver North’s "War Stories" on Fox News Channel or check out the Military Channel. Both are on cable/satellite.
With so many new medium outlets today, the MSM and Democratic Party are entering a ‘black hole’. The gravitational pull has them, so not even their ‘light’ will escape in the end. I am proud to be part of one of these new mediums.
The terrorist have surely taken a page from Lenin’s thoughts. Maybe I titled this op-ed incorrectly. Perhaps "Useful Infidels"?

Muslim Hate Law Stirs Brits
By Patrick Goodenough

July 12, 2005(CNSNews.com)
In a victory for British Muslim campaigners, the House of Commons Monday passed a bill aimed at curbing religious hatred, despite critics' warnings that it could worsen relations between religious communities.
The Racial and Religious Hatred Bill passed its third reading by a 301-229 vote, just hours after Prime Minister Tony Blair's press secretary declined to rule out using the measure, if it becomes law, against Muslim figures who may incite violence against Christians and Jews. Full Article…
Watch for the same to come from the Left in Congress. Although I will admit not all of the Left will support something of this nature. The Brits really have themselves a hot potato this time.

A Just Sentence?
The Associated Press
Wednesday, July 13, 2005
Via Fox News
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A prominent U.S.-based Islamic scholar who exhorted his followers after the Sept. 11 attacks to join the Taliban and fight U.S. troops was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.
Ali al-Timimi of Fairfax was convicted in April of soliciting others to levy war against the United States, inducing others to aid the Taliban, and inducing others to use firearms in violation of federal law. Full Story …
I am not sure this is a just sentence. This person will now go to a federal penitentiary where he can spreads his hatred for our country, converting many of his fellow inmates and further his cause for Islam. The prison system is fast becoming a breeding ground for the Islamofascist. An excellent place to seed sleeper cells. Attack from within.

It's Miller Time!
It's Miller time . . . in free-press America
Kathleen Parker Life & Times July 10, 2005
As New York Times reporter Judith Miller was taken in shackles to jail for declining to reveal her sources, two thoughts came to mind: The woman has great courage, and the American public should be deeply grateful for her integrity.I hold firmly to the first notion. Miller is brave and represents the best of what journalism is supposed to be. In a word, trustworthy. She refused to renege on her promise to protect a source (or sources) interviewed during her investigation of the Valerie Plame spy-outing case and now is behind bars. More…
"Miller's now-notorious WMD stories were later revealed to have been based on unreliable sources. It happens." I hate it when that happens!
"There are times when reporters may need to bring down a bad Democrat (though the Dems will have to be in power first), and it will be far easier if sources feel they can speak freely with impunity." So now the Democrats have to be in power to be brought down! Sure showing her true colors.
"And it's also certainly true that the practice of protecting sources is overused and abused."
This statement is akin to "Houston, we have a problem."
"Without reporters who will protect those who tell dangerous secrets, …" So it’s up to reporters to determine what are dangerous secrets! Scary.
The law has spoken. She is in jail for breaking the law. So say’s the SCOTUS. I wonder if she would be willing to do it again? I’ll bet not.
Whatever happend to Sedition
By Rocco DiPippoFrontPageMagazine.com July 11, 2005
The latest attack on the U.S. by its Fifth Column enemies is aimed at stopping the Armed Forces from enlisting new recruits. Faced with a flagging anti-war movement, leftist agitators have shifted gears and are now subverting the War on Islamist Terror by trying to destroy America’s ability to maintain a fighting force. Though so far limited in success, this counter-recruitment movement is growing quickly and threatens to wreck America’s ability to defend itself from its enemies. more…
An excellent read!
What is Sedition
Sedition is a deprecated term of law to refer to non-overt conduct such as speech and organization that is deemed by the legal authority as tending toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often included subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws.
Because "sedition" is typically considered the subvert act, the overt acts that may be prosecutable under "sedition" laws vary from one legal code to another. Where those legal codes have a traceable history, there is also a record of the change of definition for what constituted sedition at certain points in history. This overview has served to develop a sociological definition of sedition as well, within study of persecution.
The difference between sedition and treason consists primarily in the subjective ultimate object of the violation to the public peace. Sedition does not consist of levying war against a government nor of adhering to its enemies, giving enemies aid, and giving enemies comfort. Nor does it consist, in most representative democracies, of peaceful protest against a government, nor of attempting to change the government by democratic means (such as direct democracy or constitutional convention). Source …
The last Sedition Act (1918) was repealed in 1921. Apparently the three Sedition Laws that were enacted in our past were controversial in their time, as would be today. But what these Moonbats are doing is treasonous.
Perhaps a new law addressing this issue should be debated and acted upon in the hallowed halls of Congress. Could you imagine the Democrats/Left in this bowl of alphabet soup (ABC, CBS, NBC, MSM)? This would be a direct attack on their moonbat base. Looney Toons on their end for sure! One great concern I have is the politicians of today on both sides of the isle passing an act of this significance.
DiPippo is correct in that if SCOTUS determines that the Soloman Amendment is unconstitutional, an all out campaign by these un-American seditious scum will certainly come. The next appointment to SCOTUS could very well determine the correct (conservative) outcome of this case. God help us if it’s a moderate appointment.

Supreme Court Justice David Souter probably never expected his vote to permit a Connecticut town the power to seize the homes of citizens would come back to haunt him.
But it may. More …
Can you believe this is the home of one of our SCOTUS justices? Looks like a run-down farm house that smells of manure and needs to be condemmend for the good of the citizens. More taxes for the city. It's for the "children". (LOL) I can hear the liberals crying now!!

Left's Idea of Free Speech
By David Ammons
The Associated Press
OLYMPIA — Foes of Washington's gas-tax increase have lost a pair of court cases, but say their efforts to overturn the 9.5-cent-per-gallon increase remain on track and they expect their initiative to make the November ballot. The first 3 cents of the increase took effect Friday, added to the state's existing 28-cent-per-gallon tax. Also on Friday, Thurston County Superior Court directed the critics to fully disclose their donors' identities immediately or forego their contributions, and ordered that KVI Radio report the value of two talk-show hosts' comments promoting Initiative 912. Click here (Seattle Times) for full article...
Now, what does this jurist not understand about the First Ammendment. To remind him...
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Guess he is in favor of the bond issue. Just another jurist legislating from the bench. But, look what SCOTUS did for campaign finance!
